Traditional Turkish Barbers
Turkish barbers on North Road since 2013. Wet shaves, hot towels, flames. No appointment — the door’s open.
Thirteen years on North Road.
We opened in 2013, the first Turkish barbershop in the city, and we’ve been on North Road ever since.
Nothing about the work has changed. A straight razor, a hot towel, a clean line round the ear. What’s changed is the room — black marble, glass, mirrors and good light.
We’ve never taken bookings. Come in, sit down, wait your turn. It’s rarely long, and there’s çay while you wait.

Everything on the board.
Same prices here as on the board by the door. Cash or card. Student and pensioner rates every day of the week — you don’t have to ask for them.

Our story
Two of us own it.
Marmaris is ours. We opened it in 2013 — the first Turkish barbershop in Durham — and we’ve worked in it every day since.
It’s still the two of us in the shop most days, çay on the go. Come in and say hello — you’re in good hands.
Walk in one way, out another.
A skin fade, a beard shaped up, a clean line round the ear. Some of the week’s work, before and after the chair.
